Here's a glimpse of the tail of 'The Fiddlers' pool (click to enlarge) through the trees on the right hand bank during spring last year. Just below here on the opposite bank is the start of 'The Trap' pool. Many salmon gather in numbers throughout the spring months in this area. There are some large natural boulders at the tail of the Fiddlers which salmon like to hang around too. Wading here is possible in low water as you can see the shallow water off this bank. This can be another little hot spot at certain times of the season on Newtyle.
