A 23lbs Salmon On Dunkeld House (Promo Example)

This 23 lbs beauty was caught by visiting salmon angler Louise King this morning in the Fifey Pool. There's many big Tay salmon taken up residence in this pool over the last few days and there's very few rods currently booked on to catch them. Book yourself a chance at one of these Tay heavyweights this week. The booking engine widget opposite has all the current 'live' salmon permit availability for Dunkeld House where you can make your booking now. Best be quick as availability will likely go soon for obvious reasons!! (Widget Promotional Example).

Willie 'The Ghillie' Laird

Here's the man responsible for my involvement in the salmon fishing world. For those who remember him he was an absolute 'topper' of a man and still greatly missed by many. This 'lucky charm' rod label ensures contact with our 'salmon god' as I am convinced Willie will be one of his closest pals. If I told you how this picture came to be a lucky charm on my Monteith Spey rods you wouldn't believe me !

Here's Izzy Proby with the result of her first morning's salmon fishing. Izzy's fine 15 pounder took a size 11 Park Shrimp in the Ash Trees pool of Lower Kinnaird and fought for a full 25 minutes before being landed. Brilliant effort Izzy who also managed to completely master the double Spey cast too.

Here's Allan Clarke with a perfect summer salmon of 7 lbs which took his 'copper ass' fly in the New Pool on Lower Kinnaird late this afternoon. Allan's salmon was quickly returned to the Tay after this photo was taken. Exceptionally well done Allan. For salmon fishing hospitality events Click here.

Willie Gunn Salmon Fly

This is one of the most deadly salmon fly patterns of them all. Personally I found the gold bodied versions absolutely brilliant in the Spring.
