Junction Pool Lower Kinnaird River Tay




This pool is an absolute topper for holding salmon as are most confluences. The River Tummel meets the Tay just upstream of this Speycaster and many salmon and sea trout congregate and are caught right here each season.

Here's Steve Lant playing his 2nd fish today at the Cottage Stream Pool on the Kercock Beat. This was the 3rd salmon Steve had landed on the fly in 2 days fishing. He also lost another at the net. All salmon were successfully returned to the Tay. Brilliantly well done Steve and haste ye back !!!

New Riverbank Vehicle

With all the wear and tear a vehicle takes on the riverbanks of Scotland this new Isuzu 4X4 should be up to the task for a few forthcoming seasons. Ferry Cottage Lower Kinnaird Beat River Tay

As of today this beautiful former ghillie's cottage on one of the most productive pools on the River Tay is my new home. My strong and developing business relationship with the Kinnaird Estate has been recognized by their management and they have very kindly made available this great base for me to operate from. River Tummel Fish Pass Pitlochry Dam

Here's a couple of salmon resting up in one of the many concrete pools of the Pitlochry dam fish pass. While it's nice too see salmon holding in a pool like this it has always saddened me to see the absolute destruction to the river environment that hydro electric power generation has caused especially on the River Tummel system.
