The Boat Pool Glendelvine Beat River Tay

Here's the famous Boat Pool on the Glendelvine Beat of the Tay. If you click to enlarge this shot you should be able to see the 'Bargie Stane' upstream on the left hand side. There's a deep little trough in the riverbed just above this stone where Georgina Ballantyne hooked the British rod caught record salmon of 64 lbs in October of 1922. Nearly 100 years later this deep trough is still present above the stone and is an excellent salmon lie for those who have worked out how to cover it effectively.
