Salmon Lies River Spey

One of the biggest clues while looking for salmon on our Scottish rivers is glassy water patches like you see in this picture. These patches of water are caused by uneven areas of river bed and create little pockets of slackish water that salmon & sea trout love to lie in. Can't wait to swim a Willie Gunn through this later in the Spring once the Springers start snooping up the Spey in the warmer water.

The Copper Bodied Cascade Salmon Fly
