Spey Casting Tuition River Spey Scotland

Here's Pete Haslett throwing a technically perfect single Spey cast after a brief Spey casting lesson !!! There is absolutely NO need for repeated Spey casting lessons if yo come to see me. There are many outstanding Spey casters out there but very few who can easily communicate and fully program the cast in the minds of others quickly and effectively. I can come to any river location in Scotland subject to availability. For more information Click here.

Effective Speycasting Tuition

I believe I am the very best communicator of this traditional Scottish art form cast in the business. I say that because I teach in an easy to understand and simple manner which is very uncomplicated and based on logic. I also operate a 'no success no fee' guarantee which should indicate my confidence and ability. If you've been Speycasting for a while and require fine tuning or are an absolute beginner then I can be of service to you. For more information Click here.

Guay Pool Lower Kinnaird River Tay

Here's a shot of the tail of the Guay Pool this morning just after several clean fish showed moving through this hot spot. Kevin Smith here in the photograph had a dunt from one with his 5th cast and it could have so easily have been another brand new Spey caster hooking straight into a salmon on the fly within minutes of starting. Within 30 minutes a 12 pounder & 5 pounder were landed in the seriously prolific Ash Trees pool half a mile upstream. To book a rod on this amazing beat drop me an email or give me a call (contact details above).

The Monteith Salmon Gye Landing Net With Weigh Scale

I'm currently designing a gye style salmon landing net which has an extremely fish friendly bag and mesh. It is designed to leave the fish on its side on the flat bottom of the net and with its head tucked into one of the triangular pockets. For many years I've witnessed salmon being damaged by big meshed nets which can easilty tear fins making a mockery out of catch & release. I've also incorporated a weigh scale in the handle that weighs up to 42 lbs which is an optimum weight for UK salmon these days. This net will appear very shortly and will surpass any landing net design to date. It will also be of quality British build and carry a life time warranty on the frame/handle. With accurate weighing and 'catch & release' being high on the agenda these days this will be one product that the serious salmon angler will shortly consider to be a 'must have'.

The River Beauly

The River Beauly is another absolute gem of a Scottish salmon & sea trout river. The source of the Beauly is the River Glass which rises as the River Affric. Many Summer grilse are being caught up here at the moment and the river today was simply bouncing with fish !! Unfortunately I was only here to teach 2 fishers how to Speycast. Both went on to land salmon this afternoon.
