13 lbs Salmon Kinnaird Beat River Tay
Here's Lucy Baker with her first ever salmon on her first ever day's salmon fishing. This beautiful salmon was hooked in the famous Ash Trees Pool on the lower beat. The unbelievably superb Kinnaird Beat yet again produces not just the fish but also the scenery, peace and quiet, good etiquette from the beat ghillies, superb luxury fishing huts and a properly run and 'client experience' orientated operation. Have I said enough ...... !!!! If you fancy a quality introduction to River Tay salmon fishing or simply a rod on this superb beat contact me on 07968 145033.

Spring Salmon Released
Here a great release video of a 17 lb Spring salmon swimming away strongly from last week. This is the only chance for the future regardless of what the experts say and you don't need to be an expert to realise that the dead ones don't spawn !!!

Perfect Spring Salmon Kinnaird Beat River Tay
Here's 14 year old Leon Joughin with his first ever salmon on his first ever day salmon fishing !! This perfect 15 lbs Spring salmon was hooked and landed in the Ash Tree pool on the fabulous & famous Kinnaird beat which I personally regard as the finest fly fishing beat on the entire Tay system. Leon's salmon was hooked under the guidance of Gordon Pollock who I am delighted to be working closely with due to an excessive demand for quality salmon fishing guides.

More Kelts On Lower Kinnaird
More kelt action from yesterday on the Lower Kinnaird beat of the Tay. Heavy rain all through the night knocked out all chances of a salmon today however this big flood should help things once it settles back.

Kinnaird Beat River Tay
It's good to see so many well mended kelts still in the River Tay system which I am sure is something to do with the exceptionally cold start to the year that we have had. Michael Smith from Australia here in the photograph had 3 like this one today and 2 of them fought nearly as well as a fresh run Spring salmon would have done.

The Monteith Speycaster Sunk Line Multi Tip
This is the only sunk line multi purpose Spey line available and those who currently have them are more than delighted. The sad thing in our industry that's happened over the last few years is the invasion of the shooting head line and fast actioned Scandinavian styled rods . Although these systems are effective too they are flat out ugly compared to the elegance of a Spey tapered line and through actioned Spey rod. I suppose the next thing the market will dictate is that we give up our malts for schnapps and swap our kilts for lederhosen !!! For more information on this truly Scottish groundbreaking product Click here.
