The Famous Endrick Pike Head

This was a colossal pike that was found dead on the Endrick Bank in 1934. I read about this pike in the 70's when Fred buller wrote The Doomesday Book Of Mammoth Pike and it is now on display in the Art Galleries in Glasgow. Beside this pike's head is a full cast of another pike of around the 20 lbs mark. The head of the Endrick pike is at least 4 times larger and Buller himself conservatively estimated this beast to be in the 80 lbs bracket !!!!!

Strange things can happen to you when you're salmon fishing !!!! This sand martin landed on my rod and stayed there despite several attempts to shake it off. Eventually I dipped it's tail feathers in the river and it flew away to come back and land on my rod again 30 seconds later !!! If I hadn't been able to photograph this no one would have believed me !!
